 THE BASE LINE IS LOCATED ABOUT 17.7 KM (11.0 MI) SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF WINDHAM, 17.7 KM (11.0 MI) WEST-NORTHWEST OF NORWICH, AND 6.2 KM
 (3.9 MI) EAST OF COLCHESTER.  THE BASE LINE RUNS ALONG AND IS APPROXIMATELY PARALLEL WITH THE SOUTHERN EDGE OF THE EASTBOUND LANES
 OF STATE HIGHWAY 2.

 THE BASE LINE IS AN EAST-WEST LINE WITH THE 0-METER POINT ON THE WEST END.  IT CONSISTS OF THE 0, 150, 800, AND 1400 METER POINTS.

 TO REACH THE 0-METER POINT FROM THE JUNCTION OF STATE HIGHWAYS 2 (EXIT 18) AND 16 (MIDDLETOWN ROAD), LOCATED SOUTHWEST OF COLCHESTER,
 GO SOUTHEAST ON STATE HIGHWAY 2 FOR 1.0 KM (0.6 MI) TO THE Y-INTERSECTION OF STATE HIGHWAY 11 SOUTH (EXIT 19) ON THE RIGHT.  KEEP LEFT
 AND CONTINUE EASTERLY ON STATE HIGHWAY 2 FOR 2.65 KM (1.65 MI) TO THE OVERPASS JUNCTION OF CHESTNUT HILL ROAD (EXIT 21). CONTINUE EAST

      THE BASE LINE IS LOCATED AT THE DANBURY MUNICIPAL AIRPORT ON THE EAST SIDE OF DANBURY ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 7 AND ALONG THE
      SOUTH SIDE OF RUNWAY 35.

      TO REACH FROM THE JUNCTION OF INTERSTATE 84 AND U.S. HIGHWAY 7 GO SOUTH ON U.S. HIGHWAY 7 FOR 0.8 MILE TO THE AIRPORT ON
      THE RIGHT.

      THE 0 METER POINT IS 120 FEET EAST OF A CHAIN LINK FENCE, 37.5 FEET SOUTH OF THE SOUTH EDGE OF THE EAST-WEST RUNWAY AND 22
      FEET WEST OF A DRAINAGE DITCH.

      ALL THE MARKS ARE CONNECTICUT GEODETIC SURVEY DISKS SET IN THE TOP OF ROUND CONCRETE MONUMENTS FLUSH WITH THE GROUND.  THE

      STATION 3573, 3574, AND 3584 WERE RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION.  STATION 3572 WAS SEARCHED FOR BUT NOT FOUND.  IT IS PROBABLY
      THERE.

      NOTE:  THE BASE LINE IS IN A POOR LOCATION (TRAFFIC SIGNS, PARKED VEHICLES, ETC.), BUT THE CONNECTICUT GEODETIC SURVEY REQUESTED
      THAT THE BASE LINE REMAIN INTACT UNTIL IT IS PHYSICALLY DESTROYED.  CONSTRUCTION IS POSSIBLY PLANNED FOR THE NEXT YEAR OR TWO.
      TERRAIN AND TRAFFIC WOULD MAKE IT DIFFICULT TO TAPE THE 150  METER SECTION.

      THE BASE LINE IS LOCATED IN SOUTH NEW HAVEN, ALONG THE SOUTHEAST FRONTAGE ROAD, NEXT TO NEW HAVEN HARBOR AND 0.4 MILE NORTH OF
      THE NEW HAVEN SEWAGE DISPOSAL PLANT.

      TO REACH THE BASE LINE FROM EXIT 46 ON INTERSTATE 95 SOUTH, WHICH IS ABOUT 0.3 MILE SOUTH OF THE JUNCTION OF INTERSTATES 95 AND
      91 IN NEW HAVEN, EXIT OFF I-95 TO THE NORTHWEST FRONTAGE ROAD FOR 0.3 MILE TO WHERE THE ROAD GOES UNDER THE INTERSTATE AND A
      GRAVEL PARKING AREA ON THE RIGHT AND THE 0 METER POINT ON THE RIGHT AS DESCRIBED.

      THE 0 METER POINT IS IN THE GRAVEL PARKING AREA 376 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE DRIVEWAY ENTRANCE, 140 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE SOUTHEAST
      GUARD RAIL OF I-95 AND 55 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE NEW HAVEN HARBOR WATER CONTAINMENT BANK.

      ALL THE MARKS ARE CONNECTICUT GEODETIC SURVEY DISKS SET FLUSH WITH THE GROUND.  THE 0 METER AND 150 METER DISKS ARE SET IN THE
      TOP OF ROUND CONCRETE MONUMENTS.  THE 800 AND 1525 METER POINTS ARE DRILLED IN CONCRETE.  THE BASE LINE IS A NORTHEAST-SOUTHWEST
      LINE WITH THE 0 METER POINT ON THE SOUTHWEST END.  THE DISKS ARE STAMPED, STATION 3572, STATION 3573, STATION 3574 AND STATION
      3584.  THERE IS A DISK SET IN THE CENTER OF THE FRONTAGE ROAD AT ABOUT 1400 METERS AND IS STAMPED STATION 3575, BUT WAS NOT USED
      BECAUSE IT IS IN THE CENTER OF THE ROAD.
