4.1. Project Title, ID and Keywords

The Project Title, as well as the NGS Tracking ID, Data Code, and Organization were added to the project when the project was created (or when the “Add NGS Project Tracking ID” feature was selected). They cannot be changed, and are repeated here as a convenience.

Project ID and Keywords can be changed in the Preferences window, as shown in Fig. 4.3. Choose names that make sense to you. Note the restrictions imposed on ID and Keywords (red arrow, below):

Project IDs are unique among all projects currently in existence. The manager’s email address is associated with the project at creation and the two are associated together for the life of the project. Manager and session keywords exist only inside the project and may be used in other projects. Lost or forgotten project IDs and keywords may be recovered using the “Project List” button on the Manager’s Page, assuming you have access to another of your previous projects (see section 7.1). If you do not have access to previous projects, check your inbox for the original email from OPUS providing you the credentials. If the credentials were altered, you will need to contact the OPUS Help Desk for assistance.
