Gilbert Mitchell of the National Geodetic Survey (NGS) was honored by NOAA on April 27 with a 2009 Distinguished Career Award for service to the National Geodetic Survey that resulted in increased efficiency, implementation of new and modern geodetic techniques, and a legacy of knowledge transfer benefiting the people of the United States.
