NGS Presents Widely-Attended Webinar

The National Geodetic Survey (NGS) recently presented a free webinar with over 100 registrants from across the country entitled "Modernization of the National Spatial Reference System." NGS' Dave Doyle discussed how enhancements to the network of Global Navigation Satellite Systems, including the U.S. Global Positioning System (GPS), the Russian GLONASS, the European Union's GALILEO, and China's COMPASS, will significantly improve over the next decade through the use of space-based systems for surveying, mapping, charting, navigation, and numerous other applications. Attendees represented a variety of federal, state, and local government agencies, as well as private surveying, mapping, and engineering companies. The webinar will be repeated on May 26.
