NGS Releases New Version of One of its Most Popular Products

The National Geodetic Survey (NGS) recently released the most extensive redesign of its geodetic control datasheet in the past decade. Several new data elements have been added to the datasheet to provide geodetic control users with a better understanding of the positional integrity of any given point, with respect to nearby stations and the entire National Spatial Reference System (NSRS) framework. The NGS datasheet is a product that allows surveyors, engineers, and other users to tie their surveys to the NSRS via local survey marks. NGS datasheets are downloaded an average of 500,000 per month (approximately six million times per year). These changes will improve the ability of NSRS users to assess the reliability of their data in support of the vast array of practical mapping, charting, GIS, construction, and spatial data management applications.
