NGS Positions Sensor Systems on Survey Vessel Ferdinand Hassler

Personnel from NOAA's National Geodetic Survey (NGS) conducted U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) and American Bureau of Shipping certifications the week of March 28. NGS conducted sensor spatial relationship surveys in order to position the vessel's sensor systems that collect hydrographic data. After receiving USCG certification, Hassler will transit from Pascagoula, Mississippi to a NOAA facility on the east coast. The goal is to have the ship fully operational at its eventual homeport in New Hampshire in 2012. For more information, contact Perky Falconer.
