NGS Trains NTIA Staff in Satellite Positioning Techniques

Staff from the NGS Testing and Training Center(NTTC) conducted Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and real-time kinematic (RTK) training for the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) at the Department of Commerce's Boulder Labs in Colorado. The NTIA's Institute for Telecommunication Sciences (ITS) invited NGS to conduct the training there. The ITS is developing a mobile, multi-sensor, precision geolocation system and will use its improved understanding of GNSS and RTK to establish a baseline for comparing the system's position correction techniques. The NGS Rocky Mountain Regional Geodetic Advisor and an NTTC trainer also briefed the trainees on NGS's mission and program activities. The training prompted ITS to request future presentations and training from NGS.
