NGS has calibrated GPS user antennas as a free service since 1994. Recently, NGS added the ability to compute absolute calibrations using a robotic arm as the antenna test platform. This advance enables robust, full-azimuth calibrations for multiple GNSS, beyond simply GPS L1 and L2.This webinar introduces key concepts of antenna calibrations and reviews the history of calibrations at NGS. Absolute antenna calibration research at NGS and preliminary results are also presented. Antenna calibrations are important corrections that must be applied to obtain the most precise and accurate GNSS positions possible, especially heights.
