Aeronautical Surveys

C&GS began performing aeronautical surveys in the 1920's to provide critical runway, obstruction, navigation aid, and airport feature information needed to safely fly into airports.

More specifically, shortly after World War II, C&GS began surveying airports and producing approach “Obstruction Charts” for hundreds of airports across the country.
