No one knows for sure how many men and women have filled the rolls of NOAA and its ancestor organizations throughout 200 years of history. But it’s safe to say that they number in the hundreds of thousands.

Many men and women have distinguished themselves with discoveries, innovations, and leadership. Learning about those who shaped and dramatically influenced NOAA should give us greater appreciation for their achievements.
